چکیده

In this article, we present a generic locomotion control framework for legged robots and strategy policy optimization. The is based on neural black-box combines central pattern generator (CPG) radial basis function (RBF) network to create CPG-RBF network. acts as produce arbitrary rhythmic trajectories the joints of robots. main features are: 1) it since can be applied with different morphologies; 2) has few parameters, resulting in fast learning; 3) scalable, both terms policy/trajectory complexity number legs that controlled using similar trajectories; 4) does not rely heavily sensory feedback generate thus less prone faults; 5) once trained, simple, minimal, intuitive use analyze. These will lead an easy-to-use convergence ability encode complex policies. work, show successfully three simulated varying morphologies and, even broken joints, learn We also after learning, policies transferred real-world robot without any modifications. We, furthermore, scalability by implementing controller all decentralized individual leg pairs. By investigating correlation between morphology encoding type, are able Finally, how integrated into enable online adaptation.

Legless locomotion for legged robots

We propose a locomotion technique for a legged robot that is high-centered, i.e., a robot stuck on a block with its legs dangling in air. By using its legs as reaction masses, the robot might be able to rock and roll on its stomach and incrementally move forward off the block, a form of legless locomotion using halteres. With locomotion of high-centered robots using body attitude oscillations a...

Legless Locomotion: A Novel Locomotion Technique for Legged Robots

We present a novel locomotion strategy called legless locomotion that allows a round-bodied legged robot to locomote approximately when it is high-centered. Typically, a high-centered robot is stuck since the robot’s legs do not touch the ground. Legless locomotion uses the legs as a reaction mass to set up oscillatory body rotations which when coupled with ground contact gradually translate th...

Locomotion Control of Legged Robots using Nonlinear Oscillators

This paper deals with locomotion control of legged robots using nonlinear oscillators. The proposed control system is composed of a motion plan system and a motion control system. The motion plan system is composed of a motion generator and a trajectory generator. The nonlinear oscillators in the motion generator tune the phases through the feedback signals from the touch sensors at the tips of...

Multi-contact Locomotion of Legged Robots

Locomotion of legged robots on arbitrary terrain using multiple contacts is yet an open problem. To tackle it, a common approach is to rely on reduced template models (e.g. the linear inverted pendulum). However, most of existing template models are based on some restrictive hypotheses that limit their range of applications. Moreover, reduced models are generally not able to cope with the const...

A Model-Based Control Approach for Locomotion Control of Legged Robots

In this project, a new method is proposed for controlling legged robots. This method takes dynamics of the robot into account to have better nominal tracking of desired trajectories and more compliant environmental interactions at the same time. We have incorporated also natural dynamics of the robot into the system by using off-line calculated gaits extracted from optimizations on energy. So t...
